Colonel Kyle Solomon

Colonel Solomon enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1993 and graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) Kingston with an undergraduate degree in Chemical and Materials Engineering. Upon completion of Military Engineer training in Chilliwack, he served in 1 Combat Engineer Regiment as a Troop Commander and Squadron Commander. He also served at the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering as an instructor and as the Commandant. Colonel Solomon had the honour to serve as the Director of the Corps of Royal Canadian Engineers for three years. 

Colonel Solomon’s international deployments have been to Kosovo with Operation KINETIC and Afghanistan under Operation ARCHER / ENDURING FREEDOM. He also deployed domestically to Operation RECUPERATION. His extra regimental appointments included service with the Land Forces Western Area Headquarters as Real Property Planner, the Strategic Joint Staff as the Engineer Planner, Aide de Camp to the Chief of the Defence Staff, Canadian Joint Operations Command as J5 Continental, Senior Military Advisor to the Deputy Minister of National Defence, the Director of Land Force Development in the Canadian Army Headquarters, and the Director of Digital Transformation in the VCDS Group. 

Colonel Solomon is a registered Professional Engineer. He holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, a Master’s Degree in Military Arts and Science, and a Master’s of Business Administration. He is a graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College and the US Army School of Advanced Military Studies.  

Colonel Solomon is currently the Commandant of the Canadian Army Command and Staff College.
