Military Professor - Joint Military Operations, US Naval War College

LTC/P MARK V. ROSS is a Military Professor in the Joint Military Operations Department at the United States Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.  Mark has 22 years of service in the United States Army, initially commissioned into the Field Artillery but later branch transferred to the Infantry.  Mark has three combat tours to Habbaniyah and Baghdad, Iraq as well as Maiwand, Afghanistan focusing on security and stability operations.  His operational and overseas tours include Honduras, Germany, and the Republic of Korea.  Mark has served as an Observer/Coach/Trainer at the Joint Readiness Training Center preparing brigades for worldwide deployment.  Additionally, he served as an Assistant Staff Group Advisor in the Department of Army Tactics at the United States Army’s Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas enabling junior officers’ transition from the direct to organizational levels of leadership.  Mark served in ever key and developmental command and staff position from Platoon Leader thru Battalion Commander. 

He is a United States Army Command and General Staff College graduate.  Mark received a Master’s Degree in Management from Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri.  He has been awarded the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, and numerous others throughout his military career.
