Mr Dave Anderson is the Senior Advisor Digital Transformation to Chief Combat Systems Integration, who in turn is a direct report to the Vice Chief of Defence. Involved in the Canadian Armed Forces Digital Transformation file since 2018 as a General, a Public Service Executive, and now a consultant, he was a key contributor to the design and writing of the CAF Digital Campaign Plan.
Dave is a retired Brigadier-General who served in the CAF from 1980 to 2020, spanning 8 years as a reservist in the Canadian Grenadier Guards, and 32 years in Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. He was privileged to be selected to command at the Platoon, Company, and Battalion level, culminating with command of 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, a formation of 5000 troops in Western Canada.
Notable postings included three years as a company commander in the UK Army on exchange, operations in Cyprus, Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and as Chief of Defence Staff Liaison Office to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon in Washington DC. On his return from Iraq, he was appointed Chief of Staff Readiness at the Canadian Joint Operations Command. In that role he led the team that produced the Pan-Domain Force Employment Concept.
Mr Anderson holds a Bachelor of Military Arts and Science from Royal Military College, and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National Defense University in Washington DC.
